A Canary Report from 1730 exactly 107 years before the Jesmond Ship 1840’s incident

( That is the Mid-Atlantic Volcanic instability questions of Atlantis)

The Canary Islands were probably a part of the original empire of Atlantis. On the 1st of September, 1730,

the earth split open near Year, in the island of Lancerota. In one night a considerable hill of

ejected matter was thrown up; in a few days another vent opened and gave out a lava stream

which overran several villages. It flowed at first rapidly, like water, but became afterward heavy

and slow, like honey. On the 11th of September more lava flowed out, covering up a village,

and precipitating itself with a horrible roar into the sea. Dead fish floated on the waters

in indescribable multitudes, or were thrown dying on the shore; the cattle throughout the

country dropped lifeless to the ground, suffocated by putrid vapors, which condensed and

fell down in drops. These manifestations were accompanied by a storm such as the people of the

country had never known before. These dreadful commotions lasted for five years. The lavas thrown

out covered one-third of the whole island of Lancerota. (Information from the internet)

A recent letter to Atlantisite.com from a reader ‘Dadefamily’

I am not a scientist, although I do have an inquisitive, insightful,

and theory filled mind.  I am seeing a connection with Plato's account

of the Destruction of Atlantis and not just one cataclysmic event,

but two catastrophic events melded into one event.  The 2 events that I am talking about are:

an enormous volcanic eruption and a landslide created from this explosion sliding into the sea and creating a

Mega-Tsunami completely covering the city with not only a layer of hot ash that hit the city first covering and

killing many people.  Then after just a few moments after the gas and dust explosion engulfing the city a section

of the volcano slid off the side of it and into the ocean creating a tidal wave covering the city in a bubbling and

muddy soup.  This would bury the city beneath mounds of mud and perhaps creating a lake or permanent piece

of land trapped beneath the water of shallow ocean.  This would account for Plato's description of the tragedy in

a way that I believe is indisputable evidence of its existence in places we have looked and places we have not

looked due to those places not fitting exactly what Plato wrote about.  Remember that Atlantis was destroyed in

a night and this description of events would do that in one single night with no way of escape for any and

certain death for all.  I would like to participate in any research or expeditions, but I am not a Phd., college degree, or a person with any type of real geographical study experience.

If you would like to look into mega-tsunami there is a special

on the Discovery channel about them January 25th, 2003 at 4:00 pm.

Please let me know if this even a possibility for the non-evidence

of existence of Atlantis or I am just a daydreaming regular Joe.

I would appreciate any feedback you may have.

Thank you for your patience in reading and responding to my comments.

Scientist Finds ancient knowledge of Magdalenians about the stars

Ice Age people find their ways by the stars: A rock picture in the Cueva di El Castillo (Spain) may represent the circumpolar constellation of the Northern Crown (CrB)

Dr. Michael A. Rappenglück M.A.

Summary

“A rock picture found in the Cueva de El Castillo (Spain) shows a particular pattern of points. Examined from an astronomical viewpoint, it may be a pictorial representation of the lower culmination of the constellation of the Northern Crown (CrB) at about 12000-11,000 BC. The research works starts with a precise description of the pattern and picture. Then this is designated hypothetically as a constellation, by reason of its appearance”
