An Introduction, By Egerton Sykes (a brief
summary on Karola Siebert's 'Atlantis in
"For the use of future generations of investigator,
Karola Siebert has managed to photograph all the more important sites on which
she has worked, a fact which will enable us to re-establish alignment angles
whenever they may be needed. In considering her thesis it must be realized that
the term "Atlantean " applies to any form of cultural intrusion from
the East; the term "Lemurian", covers cultural intrusions from the
West. This does not imply that they came from any specific place in those
areas, as both Atlantis and Lemuria are generic terms covering wide varieties
of cultures stretching over immense areas. The only limiting factor is that of
dating, and here one must assume that the valid period is between 12,500
B.C. and 500 B.C., the long period pf twelve thousand years is to cover the
delayed action of indirect contacts. It must be accepted that there have
been cross contacts all along the Andes between cultures coming up from the
Technical difficulties have held up the publication of the
first batch of Karola Sieberts photographs, it is hoped that it will be
possible to issue these separately at a latter date. But even without them the
possibilities opened up by her discoveries are of fascinating possibilities.
Egerton Sykes April 1968.
At this time Sykes and his wife celebrated there Golden
Wedding Anniversary, which received many world wide notice by scholars of their
personal event his wife did a lot of work for him in Editing.
This is a tribute from the Webmaster to
'Mrs. Sykes', who has since passed away and thank you for your service
to Atlantology, and I acknowledge Mrs. Sykes as a 'fellow of important Atlantologists ' which I "do here now record officially in the annals
of Atlantis and Lemurian research." A many a thank you to you, Mrs. Sykes
for your support of your husband and her interests in making these rare works
presented to the public for over 50 years.
This also includes the patience of Edgar Cayce significant Wife who understood the complexities and problems of Cayce ever
even mentioning about Atlantis, I also tip my hat to you another supporter of Atlantology information.
Atlantis in Peru, By Karola Siebert 1968
(a summary of work)
It happened by sheer chance in 1958. I was searching for
the Huican ruins, situated in the Lurin Valley (Webmaster note -the 'Luwen'
type name of the cross glyph underwater in Cuba found recently?), of whose
walls with hieroglyphs I had seen photographs in a German Periodical. I
realized at once they represented pre-historic Egyptian or Ethiopian writings,
and considered that here was a link with Atlantis. As the road to these ruins
had been rendered impassible by the overflowing of a river, I had to make a
detour through Manchay valley, 20 kmns. From Lima, which I had not visited
before. This valley was surrounded on both sides by sand hills of every size
from small to very large. A wide road leads through it. Not thinking about
anything in particular, I saw in the distance a column rising from a low hill
by the side of the road. As I drew near an impulse made me get out of the car
to look at it from below. On examining it, I saw to my surprise a fair sized
horseshoe built of stones on ground near it. According to my knowledge, the
horseshoe is the symbol of Vulcan's Forge or the god of Fire. All this formed a
small enclosure of 2 yards wide and 3 yards long. In the middle of the inner
arch of this horseshoe there was a triangular ledge of stones coming out of the
wall of the mound, undoubtedly forming an altar, at the foot of which I found
the femur of a baby and several tiny bones which I have kept to this day.
Terror over came me. To the left of the horseshoe I saw a narrow path leading
straight to the foot of the column. Weeks later I realized that it was the
processional road to the idol, that is to the column. The seven foot high
column was built artistically of heavy stones and I immediately realized that I
was faced with a cult to the column of Atlantis, but at the same time I was
assailed by doubt. Greatly moved I climbed the rise and stood beside the
column, which was a bit taller than I. My hands touched it like something
supernatural and I felt instinctively that I was before a great mystery. My
eyes turned towards the beginning of the valley, where with the help of my
field glasses I discovered the shield of Atlantis most artistically outlined in
the Achupaya cactus on the sandy slope of a high hill. The same figure is found
engraved on the rocks in Northern countries of Europe, as illustrated in the
book by the well known Austrian Engineer and Inventor, Otto Muck, as well as in
the book by the German Pastor, Juergen Spanuth (Atlantis, The Mystery
Unraveled, 1956). Walking down behind the column I found below it a similar
horseshoe formed by a wall 1 yard high. Beside it is the same construction in
the shape of a half circle, which means Vulcan's Altar. Further on there is a
closed circle of stones also 1 yard high, symbol of the sphere of the earth or
the cosmos, or the world before its creation. Next to it had been built another
circle of stones, of a greater diameter, in the of which had been placed one
single large stones, symbol, symbol of the beginning of individuality and of
the Egyptian God of Ammon. Going a little further I found myself before several
empty megalithic tombs of different sizes, even for babies, behind which I
again found the half circle of Vulcan's Forge built of heavy stones. I gave up
my search for Huican. I turned the car around and drove slowly down the way
from which I had come, scanning the hills with my glasses. About one minute's
drive away from the column I saw to the right, also drawn in Achupaya cactus on
the slopes of the hill, the trident of Poseidon, and opposite it, almost as a
continuation and about a yard away, the symbol of Vulcan's Forge. On the next
hill I discovered two pre-Ethiopian hieroglyphs, a large and a small one, signs
for water and representing the flood. This symbolizes the law of return or the
rhythm of the cataclysm that produces the death and the birth of continents.
All this was registered in the Temple of Sais, where Solon the great legislator
and predecessor of Plato obtained his data on Atlantis. These two hieroglyphs
prove that the ancient and the present Peruvians knew and know of this rhythm
that belongs to the age of the earth. On the next hill are drawn in the same
manner with Achupaya a large empty circle, which was also the emblem of the
Priesthood of Thebes for its city, and a circle with an intermediate point
whose significance we have just explained. Farther on I found in the middle of
a small hill the classical small Atlantean cross, with its 4 equal arms, which
had its origin in the cross of the four rivers of the sacred capital of
Atlantis, that run in direction of the four cardinal points." (Webmaster
note-As noted before the cross symbol found by a research team in underwater
western Cuba had a 'cross symbol', and a very ancient map found in Sumur region
in the Middle East shows the 'four rivers surrounding the world' itself as
known to their own geographical universe i.e. Euphartes, and as such with
cities indicated. But, apparently copying the Atlantis expression or symbolic
system of mapping i.e. the encircling 4 rivers and the canal river with points
of crossings. See http://sacredtexts.com
under oldest map in the world.) And now there came for me the greatest surprise
of my life. On a slope, between two high hills and ranging down the side from
the top, was a set of symbols of Achupaya, i.e., a Zig Zag line, the symbol of
fire and water; at the same level and about ten yards away in a straight line I
saw the Atlantean Cross; and at another ten yards distance and always at the
same level the Crux Ansata or Ankh of the Egyptian Pharoahs. In the background
between these two crosses there was another symbol which I have been unable to
decipher. It is round and completely filled with Achupaya. Now all my doubts
faded. I was certain that I had found a valley entirely dedicated to the
worship of the column of the submerged Atlantis, reported by Plato in his
dialogues with Timaeus and Kritias. No one can imagine the great emotion I felt
at that moment. Here was the proof of the existence of Atlantis, whose cult had
been continued for ten or more thousands of years, handed down by the priests
to their sons, and had been renewed and rebuilt throughout the ages up to the
present. At least a hundred times I have returned to "my" valley of
Manchay, which means "The Valley of the Terrible, Fearsome". I have
climbed all the hills and in several places I found the construction of the
Altar of Vulcan and everywhere very many burnt rams' horns, indicating the cult
of Ammon, the Egyptian God. On two different hills I also found two
undecipherable symbols of the Egyptian altar, one facing the other. I have
photographed all testimonies of the Atlantis cult in the Manchay Valley, which
was without doubt dedicated to the god of the island submerged in the Atlantic
(Poseidon). Among the natives there is one god that could replace Poseidon, the
Greek god of the seas, Chon, the central figure of the carvings on the Door of
the Sun at Tiahuanacu; Huiracocha, god of fire, replaces Vulcan. These two gods
are in effect one and the same, since they are bringers of disasters. It is
known also that the natives worshipped the god Ammon of the Egyptians, as
evidenced by the circle with a point in the center. So far no Peruvian
scientist has made the pre-Inca and Incan Pantheon a subject for study, except
Dr. Rudolf Falb, a distinguished German Orientalist and linguist about whom
more later. My eyes were opened with the discovery of the Atlantean vestiges in
the Manchay Valley, and everywhere, in the fields and on the hills, I saw
traces of Atlantic in the surrounding scenery. This sowed me that the peasants
still keep up their ancient pagan religion, feigning Catholicism for fear of
the clergy. Today the symbols at Manchay are destroyed. I could rebuild them
but nobody is interested."
The rest of this work involves the chapters of
Cajamarquilla, Chancay, Sechin, Huaylas, Chavin, Incahuasi, Juansui, and Gran
Pajatan. It does as well have an archaeological viewpoint and a conclusion.
Webmasters Note- It is tragic that the region has destroyed
monuments and works by these people it would have been invaluable to research,
what is certain is the names of most of these sites stretches far back into
antiquity possibly as far back as 10,000 B.C. It maybe noted the Nazca Lines
has alos on the side of a hill a trident which like the Manchay Valley refers
to a direct link between Nasca and the Mancha Valley glyph on hills and
plateaus practices. I believe I am the first one to conect Nazca with Manchay
as both similar philologically and culturally significant and comparable by
previous religious issues considered by Mrs. Karola Siebert who being another
female recognized Atlantologists.
Panachaea-Lemuria, By E. Sykes
"That the sinking of the last remains of the real
Lemurian Island, i.e. Panacaea, occurred within recent times is shown by the
legend of the Rishi Aurva who created from his thigh a great consuming fire
that threatened to destroy the world, had not Brahma not transferred it to a
sport in the sea known as the 'Mare's mouth'. Has any reader ever heard of this
as a geo-graphical referance? One would assume it to lie in the Indian Ocean,
possibly near the Maldive Islands. What is particularly annoying is that the
reference is one that I myself made some twenty years ago and had forgotten.
Now I cannot trace its source. The only thing that is obvious is that it must
have been reasonably near the Indian coastline or no record of it would have
been kept. The first three Avatars of Vishnu: Matsya, the fish; Kurma, the
tortoise; Varha, the boar; are all portions of the same deluge or disaster
legend and may contain more clues in the original texts."
Webmaster's Note- I believe E. Sykes would have been very
impressed with the recent find off the coast of Cambay India of the sunken city
found. Could the Vishnu Avatars be one or all of these in that sinking of
the region of the Bay of Cambay, or does it refer to three different ones as of
yet being two cities we have not found off the coast of India yet? Could they
be in fact even further out as the last visages of sunken Lemuria? By D.
